California brought exotic genetics and high-grade cannabis to this year’s West Coast Weed Tour. The weed industry is different in California, from gray area farmers markets to the legal shops there are always unique genetic combinations.
Connected – Gelonade
Zesty orange flavors filled my mouth after every bong rip. The terpenes were evident through the entire smoking experience, which is one of the best indicators of well-grown cannabis. From the aromas stuck on your fingers to the terps bouncing off your lips, you can taste and smell Gelonade on its entire journey from the jar into your lungs.
White Runtz
The holographic label with Willy Wonka font already gives the product a sweet delicious vibe. But when you open the jar, you may feel like Charlie stumbling into the chocolate factory. I smelled fruity and creamy terps like I’ve rarely come across in the cannabis world. The flower doesn’t look too special, but each bud is soft, textile, and breaks down into a beautiful green and purple pile
Alien Labs – Baklava
From the time you crack the jar until it hits your lungs, this cannabis secretes decadence. From the sticky dull green flowers to the maple and mint aromas, this strain makes you feel like you’re starring in your own personal episode of Fuck That’s Delicious. Each bowl I burned through my bong was a sensual treat of sweet aromas like a bakery on Friday morning.
Top Shelf Cultivation – Whoa-Si-Whoa
The tightly packed nugs present with an almost white frost. I left the jar open on my table while the aroma filled my living room. It smelled just like Christmas, with a brightly lit pine tree resting festively in the corner. Each nug in the jar felt soft and squishy like a pillow. A dough flavor stood out with a strong piney aroma while I smoked. Immediately my eyelids felt heavy, my fingers started to slow down on my keyboard, and the munchies kicked in hard.
Gas House – Tear Gas
The Tear Gas strain is an exclusive offering from Gas House, one of the foremost purveyors of chronic in California. Their brand is broody and dark but the final product reflects great standards and practices. Their Mochilato strain was pretty good, but this Tear Gas is something to write home about. From the jar to the smoke, this product has been one of my favorite reviews of this year’s West Coast Weed Tour.
