Fire Bros., Washington state licensed cannabis cultivators from Seattle, are using a Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT to brand a new indica cannabis product.
The Fire Bros. team received an offer from a former business partner, who is only known by the name Ray (@heavysugar), and they dived into the idea headfirst.

Fire Bros Couldn’t Pass Up the Opportunity to do Something Crazy
“…we thought he was bananas. But the Apes are going to the moon right now and it turned out we just pheno-hunted a brand-new strain that we knew was going to be a real winner and thought they’d work well paired up. So here’s your chance to own a piece of cannabis and NFT history, presenting: THE CREPE APE!”
There are more than 10,000 NFT apes in the BAYC collection. Each ape is an individual in its own right, with unique fur types, facial features, expressions, emotions, clothing, accessories, as well as more.
The New Strain is an Intense Indica
The Crepe Ape cannabis bud is described as “volatile” with some intense ups and downs. The brand-new indica strain is a mix of London Pound Cake 75/Kush Mints x Project 4516.

“We wanted to do something new, something different, something cool, and most of all something fun. The celebrity NFT of choice, now featured on the discerning connoisseurs brand of choice.”
Fire Bros.
Fire Bros. is also selling merchandise in the form of a funky t-shirt. The new product and merch are opening a world of possibilities as to what can be done with ownership of an NFT. Time will tell if the trend will catch on. Who knows? Maybe in the future, we will see more cannabis brands begin to utilize NFTs in their branding.
“Stroll bravely into a brave new future with Fire Bros. and imagine a world where weed doesn’t even need to be smoked: it exists solely on the blockchain.”
