Anderson .Paak is officially partnering with Universal Music Group to create his own label. Named APESHIT INC, this label will focus on starting a new generation of music, with artists that are also instrumentalists. According to Billboard, .Paak said, “Where is the next generation that can play instruments?? I know they’re out there – don’t sell your instruments, this label wants to hear you!!”

Anderson .Paak Will Bring Years of Knowledge and Success to His New Label
Originally from Oxnard, Anderson .Paak is a Grammy Award-winning rapper, singer, songwriter, and drummer. Additionally, he has 5 full-length albums under his belt, including a collaborative album with Knxwledge. While we know that Anderson can rap and sing, he is also an amazingly talented drummer. Furthermore, .Paak often makes drums a focal point of his incredible live shows. With years of success already, .Paak has 4 Grammys and a very critically acclaimed discography. Now, he looks to promote a new generation of artists just like him.

In addition to scouting talent, .Paak will have access to UMG’s extensive network and resources. While explaining the name of his label, Anderson says the “APE” stands for Anderson .Paak Empire. Then he says the second half of the name comes from the fact that, “we on some other shit out here in this music business jungle.” With his network and eye for talent, Anderson .Paak is on the verge of creating a music empire.
