Capitol Hill has always been a niche environment for food, shops, bars, and entertainment. Food establishments there cater to a range of tastes, culinary experiences, and dietary restrictions. Within just a few blocks people are able to find vegan ice-cream, fried chicken, or made from scratch gluten-free food. Capitol Cider caters to a variety of food allergies, including people that cannot eat gluten. A person who does not traditionally eat gluten-free food will struggle to tell the difference here.
The decoration inside the restaurant takes you back in time. With paintings and other decorations that take you back in time. The downstairs bar has a slightly different feel, with a small elevated seating area against one wall. Sitting down here makes me feel like I’m sitting inside a speakeasy.
