Patrick Grant Releases Re-Imagined Composition Of “FIELDS AMAZE”

In 1997, Detroit born composer Patrick Grant put together an ensemble of musicians to create his first album, Fields Amaze. The album was originally created at Philip Glass’ Looking Glass Studio in 1998. Building upon his past work and experience, Grant later created this re-imagined piece, FIELDS AMAZE and Other sTRANGE Music, a remixed/remastered/reimagining of the original.

FIELDS AMAZE and Other sTRANGE Music is a collection created only for listeners who are prepared to indulge in the sharp creativity and harsh imaginative horror of Grant’s infectious tunes. Also complementing Grant’s two other previous albums, Tilted Axes and A Sequence of Waves, Fields Amaze is a blending of odd cross-rhythms, melodic prose, and climactic prog-rock, using synthesized elements from all his previous works to create a kaleidoscopic new soundscape.

With a combination of many instruments and sounds, including piano, keyboard, electric guitar and bass, gamelan, percussion, drums, flute, clarinet, trombone, viola, cello, vocals, and more, Grant and his ensemble manage to put together a work of art that covers a wide array of musical depiction. Grant’s style rivals the work of many modern composers.
