Kevin Gates Drops Two New Singles With "Money Long" and "Great Man"

Kevin Gates Drops Two New Singles With “Money Long” and “Great Man”

Kevin Gates is back with two new singles titled “Money Long” and “Great Man.” After being released from jail earlier this year, he dropped his highly successful EP Chained To The City. In addition, he’s been busy making new music as his upcoming project Luca Brasi 3 is expected on September 27th.

While both singles go hard, “Money Long” is the most popular with his fans. The instrumental itself has many trap inspired elements – which includes a catchy plucked string lead. The crisp lower end of the track brings everything together, as his vocals pair well with the clean production from start to finish.

While he undoubtedly brings insane bars to “Money Long”, some of the most impactful lyrics are seen with his other song “Great Man.” Within the song, his message wraps around dealing with pain, loss, not trusting his friends, and fearing that he might be killed. He shares these thoughts in lines such as “I told ’em I used to have nightmares / Somebody killin’ me, tryne get rid of me” and “Guess he got through on the crossway / Thankful that we ever crossed ways / Wonder do heaven got hallways? / Prayin’ how much I say always.”

Even though it’s expected that these two songs will be on his new project, he’s definitely on the right track with dropping quality music. His lyrics and delivery are on point, as well as the overall production and feel of the tracks.
