A few months back I featured the French producer Uppermost, including a cool live session video of his track “Step By Step.” Uppermost has been gaining steady traction over the last few years, putting out a consistent amount of quality tunes.
What I enjoy most about this artist is his progressive electroclash style, and ability to splice genres and mix things up. Listening, I can often hear influence from groups like Daft Punk and Burial. Vice has even quoted him as “One of the French electronic music industry’s finest young export.”
Below are my favorite tracks that Uppermost has come out with in the past few months. His newest track “Atoms” dropped just a few days ago, which has an ambient chill sound to it. “Beautiful Light” has an easy going, Hippie Sabotage vibe, whereas “Mistakes” reminds me a bit of Odesza. “Make A Change,” on the other hand, is distorted and deep with engaging intensity.
Out of these three songs, I like the production of Make A Change the most, but the other tracks are chill and catchy. If you like his more chill sounding music, you should also check out his recently released “Chill Mix 2018.”
Uppermost will be coming to Seattle to play at Kremwerk on March 22nd. This venue is the ideal spot to enjoy your favorite artists up close and personal. Check it out on Facebook, and grab your tickets here.
