I’m no stranger to Taylar Elizza Beth and her music. I’ve interviewed her before and been following her career for years now. This new album she recently released with WD4D had that WOW factor when I heard it. UNDERCOVER LOVERGIRL is undeniably some of the best work Taylar has put out to date. It showcases not only her growth and development as an artist and but as a human being as well.

Breaking Down UNDERCOVER LOVERGIRL
Starting off the album, the muted horns on “The Beast” add a warm and almost somber tone to the production. To contrast that, on the backend of the track is the bright “Day 117″ which has an air of clarity to its forward propelling beat. Throughout the album, WD4D does an incredible job matching Taylar’s unique tone while also bringing their own vibrant sound to the production.
The track “LOVERGIRL” showcases Taylar’s ability to seamlessly flow between hypnotizing melodies and delivering rapid fire rhymes that pelt your palette in between. The following track, “GEMINI MOON” makes me want to throw on a party dress and make some questionable decisions. Following that is the motherfuckin’ bop, “BLUETOOTH BITCHEZ” that Taylar had released as a single last summer.
“MONEY MANTRA ($$$)” has to be one of my personal favorite songs, having already added it to my playlist. The bouncy upbeat track is perfect for those days when you need to manifest that wealth for yourself. Just repeat this mantra along with Taylar and I honestly can’t guarantee that your bank account will fill up, but you might feel better if you dance around.
The next song, “BEAMING” feels like an intimate moment soaked in a quiet confidence. The groovy track perfectly leads into the closing song “UNDERCOVER.” The hard-hitting finale boasts one of the catchiest hooks on the album and wraps up the album showcasing Taylar’s strength as an artist.
This is music for the independent, sad girls out there who don’t want to be sad and wish to be happy, but life is heavy and emotional and produces a cloud of apathy after society kicks you down for simply being alive. It’s for the romantics who love their candles and crystals but respect themselves enough to never settle on a partner who doesn’t recognize their worth. UNDERCOVER LOVERGIRL is for anybody who just wants to dance around the room and embrace their true selves.
