New visuals from Macklemore! …err Raz Simone releases two new visuals taking a serious stab at SEO with the titles and keeps his message and content chalk full of realness. On ‘Drake and Macklemore’s Platform’ Raz grabs puts an incredible visual together to a Tupac clip and then takes his turn with Vegas in the background. This track and video is honestly the dopest joint I’ve heard from Raz yet. I thought dude was tight nd all that but this one right here is a real step into mainstream rap, while still remaining true to his sound and message. Man, Raz, holler at me bruh…this one is CRAZY! I do find myself wondering if this strategy Raz has going will work on a ‘mainstream’ level. He is completely in his own lane and his message may be too deep for the highest of levels. He does not have the bars that Kendrick possesses, he doesn’t have the mainstream appeal that Drake has, and he lacks the ‘everyday’ type feel that Cole has. He is truly in his own lane, more like a Young Jeezy that is way waaay more conscious. Although cognitive dissonance has been his theme, I also wonder if that will play into propelling him to the next level (making real songs, but also making slightly ig’nant sounding music to get people hooked). Either way, we are riding with you Raz and I personally feel the game NEEDS someone like you at the superstar level.

On ‘Macklemore and Chief Keef’ Raz keeps his Cognitive Dissonance theme alive and provides another poetic, cinematic track contemplating what he would do with fame. This record really dives into cognitive dissonance when he discusses Macklemore’s self fulfilling prophecy on his old song ‘White Privilege.’ This is something you need to open your ears for and maybe play back one or two more times.
