After dropping “Butterfly Effect” in 2017, Travis Scott has released the follow-up to the successful single by dropping “Watch”, which includes features from Kanye West and Lil Uzi Vert. The high-energy single is assumed to be the lead single for Scott’s highly-anticipated album Astroworld, which is set for release this year – most likely over the summer.
Produced by Pi’erre Bourne, “Watch” features loose synth sounds and a hard 808-driven beat, which provides both space and flexibility for all three artists to be creative with their rhymes and delivery. While Lil Uzi Vert and Travis Scott both have respectable verses on the song, Kanye West takes the spotlight as he opens up about his battle with opioid addiction and being in a “sunken place”.
