Toro y Moi’s Album Rundown

Toro y Moi released his electronic album “Left Alone At Night” in April of 2009 under The Savant Guard.  He dropped the original version of his single along with six remixes, Drop the Lime Remix, Pink Skull Remix, Dave Allison Remix, Afro Digi Scratch Remix, Tom Lown Remix, and Pink Skull Dark Extended Dub.

In January of 2010, he released an alternative album called “Causers of This” with eleven tracks total, the most popular songs being the first track “Blessa” and the eighth track “Talamak”.  Toro y Moi then dropped another alternative album in February of 2011 called “Underneath the Pine” with another eleven tracks, the most popular song being the second track “New Beat”.

Toro y Moi switched things up a little in April of 2012 when he released his rock album “June 2009” with a whopping total of twenty tracks.  The most popular songs on the album are “Best Around”, “Girl Problems”, and “Dead Pontoon”.

He then brought it back and dropped another electronic album in January of 2013 called “Anything in Return” with thirteen total tracks, the most popular songs being the third and fourth tracks, “So Many Details” and “Rose Quartz”.

Another rock album was released in April of 2015 called “What For?” with ten hot tracks, “Buffalo”, “Empty Nesters”, and “Lilly” being the most listened to songs.  Toro y Moi dropped, yet, another rock album less than a few years later in July of 2017 called “Boo Boo”.  The four most popular songs from the album are “Mirage”, “Girl Like You”, “You And I”, and “Labyrinth”.

Things did not slow down from there as he dropped his next electronic album in January of 2019 called “Outer Peace” with ten total tracks.  The album also featured artists ABRA on the fourth track, Wet on the ninth track, and Instupendo on the tenth track.

Excitingly, Toro y Moi dropped a hip-hop/rap album called “Soul Trash” in September of 2019.  There were twelve tracks total on the album which featured artists Elijah Kessler, Old Grape God on two tracks, and Caleon Fox.

He then brought it back again, releasing “Causers of This (Instrumentals)” in June of 2020 which included all of the instrumental tracks for each of the songs on his 2010 album.  He then also dropped “Underneath the Pine (Instrumentals)” in February of 2021 for his 2011 album.

And no, it doesn’t stop there.  Toro y Moi dropped another alternative album called “MAHAL” in April of 2022 which featured artists Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Salami Rose Joe Louis, Sofie Royer, and The Mattson 2.  Finally, his most recent album drop was “Anything in Return (Instrumentals)” in January of 2023 for his 2013 album.

New Album and Shows

Four of the songs on the album have already been released, those being the second track “CD-R”, the fourth track “Tuesday”, the fifth track “Hollywood”, and the twelfth track “Heaven”.  Both tracks “Tuesday” and “Heaven” have music videos that have also already been released.

Toro y Moi calls this album a ‘suburban anthem” in a press statement while also discussing how he thinks that the line between mainstream music and underground music has become very difficult to distinguish.

Toro y Moi also has seven upcoming shows for the next few months, where he will be performing in Dallas, San Francisco, Hollywood, Las Vegas, Queens, Miami, and Berkeley.
