Fleurysh Ventures Ltd. and Respect My Region have paired up to produce The Canadian Cannabis Podcast. It was first launched on April 20th, 2022, with some of Manitoba’s finest homegrown. Jordan Fleury hosted Adam Carritt of Prairie Trichomes, and Verne Andru, the creator of Captain Cannabis.
Experience The Most Epic 420 With Captain Cannabis
Captain Cannabis was celebrating his 45th anniversary and birthday. We connected for a nostalgic Manitoba 4/20 with the creator, Verne Andru, while he explained the origin story behind the world’s first cannabis superhero. Also, as a gift to viewers and fans, Verne shared four eComics throughout the entire day for free. Verne talked about preparing to attend Comicon in Winnipeg this October 2022, which Jordan will be live on location for.
Carritt’s Roots Are Deep in Agriculture
Husband and wife, Ken and Brenda Carritt, farmed potatoes for two decades before starting a Pig Finishing Operation in 2001. By 2019, they had another agricultural vision and prepared for cannabis production. Planning a new family tradition meant informing their children, Leah, Adam, Odell, and Dylan.
“As we began looking into the feasibility of an operation like that, we came across the Delta 9 pod growing system.” A maneuver that Adam Carritt attributes, “gave us the confidence to dive into cultivation and we made a plan for how to finish our facility.”
Prairie Trichomes First Batch Of Lemon Margy
Prairie Trichomes’ first batch of Lemon Margy was produced from Mother Labs, Canada’s premium cannabis nursery. These fire genetics allowed Adam to adapt quickly while Odell opened his first retail store in Neepawa, Manitoba. Over the span of 2020, Prairie Trichomes was chopping crops and stocking shelves.

Prairie Trichomes Resonates In Rural Manitoba
Prairie Trichomes resonates in rural Manitoba through their strategic retail expansion. The family has solidified a rural customer base that continues to grow. “The Killarney store was opened in February of 2021, and our Gimli store followed shortly after in March. Then, we opened our Onanole location in April of 2021,” Adam Carritt explained.
Since then, the Manitoba grower has produced batches of Lemon Margy, Lilac Diesel, Sour OG Cheese, and Grape Galena. They’ll be hitting shelves again soon with new products Miss Kim, and Kush Cake.

Fam Over Gram From Spuds To Buds
To sum it up in one sentence, “fam over gram, from spuds to buds,” would be the evolution story of Prairie Trichomes. Adam’s closing remarks shed light on sacrifice. “I must also point out, that for all the great times there are an equal number of difficult, frustrating, and even heart-breaking moments we had to endure and learn from to stay in business.”
