Thatshawtycrow Shows Progression On Latest EP ‘A Tale Of Two Scars’

Back in 2017, Crow or for social media’s sake, Thatshawtycrow, dropped his debut project, Crow’s Nest. I remember thinking to myself, “What the fuck is this?” It was during a time where this wave of alternative emo rap was crashing hard onto the shores of hip-hop. Two years later, I’m listening to the latest project from Thatshawtycrow, A Tale of Two Scars, and I’m thoroughly impressed.

The short three-track EP was actually easy for me to digest, showing a huge progression in Crow’s development as an artist. A Tale of Two Scars was entirely produced by OldMilk and featured beats that are anything but rotten dairy. Also, this may have been the first time he’s had his music mixed down. Both of those elements, producer and mastering engineer, are highly influential in the final sound and I think that shows in this project.

This still isn’t something that you would find me bumping on the regular. But, I do pride myself on being able to listen past what my highly opinionated ears think, since music is subjective, after all. That being said, I firmly believe that Crow deserves some recognition for his growth over the past two years.
