Last week, All Star Opera dropped their debut album as a band. They celebrated with a sold out show at the Sunset Tavern. Sitting quietly down in Ballard, the Sunset is surrounded by a quiet neighborhood filled with delicious food. This show however, was far from quiet.

Last minute curiosities left people getting turned away at the door. You had to shuffle your way through the lively crowd. Each artist on the bill brought out a crowd of their own. La Fonda kicked off the night with their indie surf rock. Real Don Music had the smooth swagger of an old school crooner. Remember Face brought their usual high energy obscurity.
ASO took the stage with an energy that filled the room. Out of all the times I’ve seen them perform, this was one of the best. They brought plenty of friends to join them during their set. The good vibes continued from The Sunset to the after party. I know I didn’t get home until like 3:30 in the morning.
Thank you to Lux Pot Shop and Western Cultured for sponsoring the event. Whatever the mystery strain inside this joint from WC is, it cured my hangover.
