Welcome to Sunday Slaps, a weekly dual feature of slappers to end your week just right. On our first edition of Sunday Slaps, we bring you a funky remix of Spocks “Demons” and a trippy track titled “Lying & Loving.”
Let’s start with this Demons remix. I discovered this one on the Bandlez Promo Podcast just the other day and decided it was worth a share. Luan LAG is a talented dubstep and trap producer from São Paulo, Brazil who, as of right now, is still fairly unknown.
What attracted me to this song was its build up and storytelling. Too often, I run into dubstep/trap/experimental music that is too rushed to get to the first drop. This song has a nice balance of buildup and engagement, making it chill, yet sort of hype at the same time.

Next, we have a few artists that are a little more known in the EDM world. Alaskan based producer Electric Mantis came together with Mothica to create this funky mix of psychedelic sounds.
This track tells a colorful story, both production wise, and lyrically, and fits together astoundingly well, in a way which manages to hide complexity behind simplicity. I’ll be looking out for more new music by Electric Mantis in the future. For now, I’ve got this one on repeat.
