Spotify users rejoice as the day has finally arrived that song lyrics have been added to the platform. The streaming platform partners with Musixmatch to make this feature possible. Both free and premium users have access to this new feature, which is present across the majority of Spotify’s library.
Unsurprisingly, Spotify states that this has been the most requested feature from listeners worldwide. After all, music is often more enjoyable when you know the words. Now, Spotify is “empowering millions of fans around the world to sing louder and more confidently than ever with the launch of Lyrics.”
Lyrics have been a part of the platform in the past, but only for certain popular songs. Likewise, this feature didn’t contain all of the lyrics as it switched between the lyrics and the meaning behind them. This feature was powered by Genius, so it is surprising to see that Spotify didn’t work with the notorious platform on this new offering.
Spotify Lyrics Feature

Plus, with access to a world of lyrics, you’ll be able to cultivate an even deeper connection to the music and artists you love, diving into the deeper meanings behind each song.”

How to Find Lyrics on Spotify
To access the Lyrics feature on a mobile device, open the Spotify app and throw on a track. Click the banner on the bottom that shows what track is playing. From there, scroll down and you’ll find the lyrics presented clear and bold. The lyrics will scroll in real time as the track is playing.
Additionally, users can share lyrics by clicking the “share” button that is located at the bottom of the Lyrics screen. Before sending it off to your friends or social media, you get to select the specific lyrics that you want to share.
Spotify’s new Lyrics feature is available across Apple and Android mobile devices, as well as desktops, TV, and gaming consoles- including Playstation 4 & 5, XBox One, Android TV, FireTV, Samsung, Roku, LG, Sky, and Comcast.
