With the growth of Korean hip-hop and pop, there’s a steady rise of interest in the States, specifically in Washington. As interest for international, namely Korean, music continues to grow in King County; artists seem to have found a hot spot for their music.
A number of South Korea’s top artists have visited Seattle this past year. Groups like Epik High (twice), DPR Live, and HYUKOH, to solo-performers like Heize, Sik-K, and fan favorite Crush. Filling venues like Showbox Sodo, Neptune Theatre and the Nectar Lounge, these artists are just getting started in solidifying themselves in the American music scene.
Fresh off their Show Me The Money 777 win, Loopy & nafla visited Showbox Sodo alongside prominent artists Mommy Son (Mad Clown), Nucksal and Deep Flow.

South Korea hosts an immaculate amount of talent, the likes many of which haven’t discovered. Western Washington has already grown two of our own stars, Jay Park, and the up-and-coming Sam Kim. The Seattle area has a deep connection to Korea, both in the music industry and in population.
With such a live scene in Seattle, we can only expect it to grow as South Korean music becomes more of a commodity and popular in the States. The hype alone is worth scoping a Jay Park music video or two.
