Sonido Global is making its way back around to transcend borders and genres for you all of lovely listeners! We hope you guys have been enjoying the latest playlist on RMR’s Spotify meant to immerse people in worldwide talents that’ll have you vibing whether you know the language or not. Join us in experiencing the beauty and authenticity of artists hailing from various corners of the Spanish-speaking world.

Justin Quiles “Inestable”

The title speaks for itself in Justin Quiles’ song about problematic and rocky relationships. The struggle is too real with unstable significant others, and you can feel that struggle in Quiles‘ emotional vocal runs. Acoustic and electronic instrumentals swirl together to emphasize the soulfulness and really make you feel the heartache.

Ozuna & El Rubio Acordeón “La Propuesta”

This track shows major Dominican love with a merengue-esque influence and a music video featuring the gorgeous Miss Dominican Republic 2023, Mariana Downing, and insane sights of DR itself. A true love song, the lyrics go deep about finding that special someone that makes you desire them mind, body, and soul. Undoubtedly, we’re going to see a lot more of this old-school-meets-contemporary era that shows off just how creative Latin and Hispanic artists can get.

Kali Uchis & KAROL G “Labios Mordidos”

These two queens are undoubtedly irresistible in their charms with “Labios Mordidos.” Both the wordplay and the music video are super flirty, and the music has that classic dance-able vibe that’s characteristic of any quality reggaeton groove. Ultimately, these reinas really bring the heat, and the sapphic energy it brings has me feeling some type of way.

Anuel AA “Arcangel Es Chota”

Raw, edgy and even menacing energy comes into play with Anuel AA’s latest. for our Sonido Global playlist. He makes it very clear that he can be harsh and unforgiving when it comes to asserting his power in the streets. Above all, the ruggedness of Anuel AA’s delivery compliments the emotional intensity of the overall production of the song.

Los G4, Ñengo Flow, Sinfónico “Aplicandola”

The words to this song tell a story of a really hard life surrounded by danger and never knowing who you can trust in a cold, cold world. As ominous as “Aplicandola” can get, it deserves mad respect by showing not every song is going to have a pretty tale to tell. Music can get really heavy, and the topics can even be uncomfortable for some. That is to say art is art and the work that sticks with you the most can be the darkest ones.

Sofia Kourtesis “Habla Con Ella”

“Habla Con Ella” is a composition of melodic harmonies with a double message. Initially, Sofia Kourtesis talks about her commitment to God and her unfaltering dedication to her faith. Next, Kourtesis goes into a bit of oral poetry halfway through about another takeaway she wants to give, and that is to be kind and mindful of what we say to each other in this age of internet and social media. Overall, this songstress just wants to spread positivity and reduce the hate.

Eladio Carrión “TQMQA”

A mix of synthesizers, mid-paced beats, and traditional Latin instrumentals are what make up this love song that shows so much devotion and love to a person, flaws and all. To fall in love and know you can only love this individual more and more each day is really so beautiful. Being the hopeless romantic that I am, this last ballad on our Sonido Global list of the week warms up my heart something fierce.
