The moment we’ve all been waiting for: $NOT released his newest album, Ethereal, after a year hiatus. The otherworldly 14-track project was preceded by a couple of single releases, “Go” and “Doja,” which also appear on the album. Ethereal features powerhouses like A$AP Rocky, Trippie Redd, Kevin Abstract, and Joey Bada$$. It has a fine mix of songs that make for a super enjoyable listening experience.

Ethereal is Unreal
In an accompanying press release with the album drop, he explained his inspiration behind the name of his album.
“It’s called Ethereal because each song seems to belong to another world.”

His statement makes a lot of sense because every track seems to take you on a trippy ride. The album has hype and chill songs, complete with exciting sounds and voices that get caught on the brain. One moment you could be shouting “Fuck You, Fuck That,” and the next, you are contemplating painful feelings like isolation and rejection.
About $NOT
$NOT initially gained exposure on the popular video page Lyrical Lemonade and has become a favorite among newer-age hip-hop fans. His breakout hit “Revenge” launched him into the limelight, and ever since then, he’s been a steady force in hip-hop.
Although the “Revenge” music video only dropped about a year ago, it feels like it’s been around for a long time. $NOT is one of those artists that consistently produces unique music and genuinely seems never to miss, so much so we included him on our “Top 21 Emerging Rappers of 2021” list. Listen for yourself, and tell us what you think of the album in the comments.
If you want to catch him live, be sure to cop some tickets to the inaugural LOOKOUT Fest on April 2nd. Get your tickets here.
