Skepta Returns With New Video For His Song “Pure Water”

London based rapper Skepta has returned with a new music video for his song “Pure Water.” Even though the track was dropped back in May, he’s finally delivered the highly anticipated visual to go with the song.

The video itself is simplistic and effective. Aside from a short clip being filmed in a red room, the video is black and white throughout. From start to finish, Skepta is seen with various women while he walks around a giant warehouse exploring multiple rooms.

The amount of bars that he brings to the table is also impressive. While the song has a normal structure containing the typical verse, pre-chorus, and chorus format – it feels more like a freestyle. The wordplay and variation of rhyme schemes displayed throughout provides refreshing variety. An example of this can be seen with the lines “I’m not a gentleman, I’m an African man / Is what I said to the priest/ So you know I stay smoking trees / And the buds in the zip pack looking obese.”
