The Seattle Seahawks’ preseason kicks off tomorrow at Lumen Field against the Las Vegas Raiders. Coach Mike Macdonald has already announced that the starters won’t play, so we’re going to get a good look at the lower ranks of the depth chart, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. The 2026 draft class could have historic ramifications for the franchise if the players like Jalen Milroe, Nick Emmanwori, Elijah Arroyo, and Tory Horton live up to their billing.
Seattle Seahawks Preseason Depth Chart Preview
Jalen Milroe and Nick Emmanwori are the players everyone, including myself, are most excited to see pop off over these next three games. Sam Darnold will be our starter, so I’d rather watch Milroe and Drew Lock take snaps in the preseason. I would love to see Milroe rip a 60-yard rushing touchdown up the right sideline. Let’s see that speed in full game action.
Standout second-round pick Nick Emmanwori has been the talk of training camp. Our starting safety spots are locked in with Julian Love and Coby Bryant, so hopefully we get to see #3 flying around the ball all preseason long.
Our D-line rotation should be insane this year. Even with the starters out tonight, we should still get to watch Derick Hall and big Johnathan Hankins get some reps in tonight. Derick Hall is a demon coming from the weak side. Can play standing up and with his hand in the dirt. He’s my dark horse to lead the team in sacks this year.
The backup wide receiver competition is interesting. I want to see Dareke Young, Ricky White III, and Jake Bobo get a ton of reps over the next three weeks.
Who’s returning kicks? Steve Sims is our starting kick returner, and Tory Horton is our starting punt returner. So I’m eager to see who they get back there for backup reps.

Seattle Seahawks Preseason Debut Versus Raiders
Pete Carroll and Geno Smith are coming back to Seattle for the first time as members of their new franchise. Coach Carroll needs no introduction; he’s the most winning coach in Seattle Seahawks history, and he’s a legend. Everyone in Seattle loves him, and as Coach Mike said, he and Geno should both be celebrated upon their return.
It would be sad to watch Pete and Geno lose against the Seahawks’ backups. That would bum me out.
Ashton Jeanty makes his NFL debut along with diamond in the rough wide receiver Dont’e Thorton. Thorton has been getting reps in with the first team offense, so I will be looking for early chemistry between him and Geno. (He’s on my fantasy roster, we need him to ball.)
Training Camp Rant
It’s practice. That’s all. We have to stop spinning entire narratives around good or bad practices. I understand the offseason gets dreadfully boring, but what are we doing? Look no further than the Sam Darnold or Caleb Williams hysteria after a few bad practices. All TikTokers should be banned from practices because their takes are dreadful and they fill my timelines with utter nonsense.
These are the same people the call Cam Ward “boring” because he’s an exemplirary human being who works harder than everyone. Shows up early and has to kicked out of the building at night. A cold blooded football assassin who will stop at nothing to make the Titans relevant… but he’s boring? Ram your fist into your own face if that’s what you think “boring” constitutes.
