Shawn Cotton, the CEO of Say Cheese, has had a tremendous effect on the music scene within the last couple of years. Starting out just by posting up in the hood recording freestyles – and then transitioning to interviews – his consistency, quality content and internet following have all gotten the brand to where it stands today.
With hundreds of thousands of followers on Instagram and millions of views on their Youtube channel, there is absolutely no question that the Say Cheese platform is helping artists reach greater heights with more exposure in half the time, compared to the early 2000’s.
They offer a chance for artist’s music to be heard and recognized around the world. More importantly, they work with both up-and-coming and established artists to put them on an even playing field, and let them have at it.
To contact their team, send them a DM on Instagram and make sure to hit Shawn’s main account with one too. In our opinion, it also doesn’t hurt to leave a RESPECTFUL comment on some of their posts tagging their account and letting them know you’re trying to do business with them.
What I wouldn’t do is approach them the wrong way. Do not spam them a link right away without first reaching out and asking for information on how to submit music. If they do not get back to you, keep trying!
It is important to keep in mind that the content you’re creating may not be a good fit for the brand, they might not think it will perform well, or maybe they’re legitimately TOO BUSY WORKING to get back to you right away or at all. This is a real thing people. Understand that sometimes we get way too many submissions and there’s not enough time to go through every email and DM. Please be respectful and patient.
