Rx Papi has become a rising rapper in such a short amount of time. The Rochester rapper has a “hop on the beat and say what I want” mentality—making each song unpredictable. Now with Pap behind bars, you’d think it would stop him, but it hasn’t.
Rx Papi: The Rising Rapper of Rochester
Pap’s music has to do with several topics. Most airing out what it was like to live in Rochester, New York, a place with high volumes of brutal crime. What separates him from other rappers is his ability to instantly switch from rapping about the hardships of living in the hood to a comedic line and vice versa. Rx Papi raps about the robbing, selling & using drugs, gang life, and the violence that comes with living in the area. Furthermore, since Pap doesn’t rap with a plan, you are getting exactly what he’s thinking at the time of recording. Rx Papi is compared to Internet-rapper Lil B, as he’s known to have the same loose, sporadic verses on a beat that he seems to adopt in his music as well.
Many of Rx Papi’s songs on YouTube can’t be found anywhere else. Additionally, the artist releases projects at a higher volume than most rappers, uploading a new song at least once a month, even while behind bars. To clarify, Pap has over 150 music videos in the last two years, and each song is like drawing a card from the deck; you never know what you’re going to get. Rx Papi’s magic to release so much music without losing quality also separates him from the competition.
