In the late 20’s, and the middle of prohibition, the Jewelbox theater opened up on 2nd Avenue with a screening room, restaurant, and basement speakeasy. This section of Belltown at the time was known as Film Row. Little did anyone know, that the Rendezvous would still be drawing its curtains back to this day.
As of lately, the Rendezvous has received a bit of a face-lift. Although it has had some renovations, the bar has maintained it’s original red velvet, Art Deco aesthetic. Everything from Burlesque to hip-hop will take the stage. The Jewelbox Theater has booths in the back that sit atop risers; there’s not a bad view in the house. With capacity around 60 people, every show is an intimate experience.
On January 11th Respect My Region will be at the Rendezvous for night three of the Seattle World Tour. Featuring Taylar Elizza Beth, LA (Language Arts), SUS, DJ J-Nasty, and All Star Opera.
