Never cross Raz Simone. He is the king of making bangers out of beef, and I’m not talking sausages. His new video, “Clout,” is probably one of the best things I’ve ever heard from Raz. Sometimes it takes strong emotions and passion to birth beautiful music.
As the fridge opens, in the beginning, you can see Clout Water. Then later as the first verse starts you see an entire box of Basic Bars. Simone is spitting anything other than Basic Bars. He dribbles down the beat like it’s a concrete court, where every verse is shot from the top of the key into a chain-link net.
The entire video is dark and powerful. Beautifully contrasted though with a wet Pioneer Square backdrop still dressed in holiday lights. All of this topped off with the hauntingly beautiful violin work from John Sinclair.
