American R&B singer songwriter from Chicago Ravyn Lenae with a unique psychedelic sound has announced the release of her next album which includes a heartfelt song that has already dropped featuring Childish Gambino.
The 25-year-old artist who is currently signed with Atlantic Records often discusses the issue of the undermining of black women in the music industry and is greatly appreciated by SZA among others.

“One Wish”
While the song will be on her upcoming unreleased album, she says that this song will be the most important song on the entire album. Lenae, whose father was a teenager when she was born, says that her relationship with her father has been rocky, noting that he was in and out of her life growing up.
Lenae casted her father in the music video and apparently he had not heard the song prior to filming. She tells The Guardian in an interview that she used the writing process of this song to release the negative emotions that she felt surrounding the relationship with her father.
Ravyn Lenae Rundown
Ravyn Lenae released her first debut EP called “Moon Shoes” in July of 2016 which features one artist Appleby on the fifth track “Free Room”. Less than a year later in March of 2017, Lenae released a six-track EP called “Midnight Moonlight” with “Spice” being the most popular song, as well as one of my personal Ravyn Lenae favorites.
Following this, Lenae dropped two remixes of her song “Spice”, one in August of 2017 with Smino and another in October with Palmistry. She has also appeared on singles for artists monte booker in 2016, Melo Makes Music in 2016 also, and Stephen in 2017.

Lenae released another EP called “Crush” in February of 2018 which features artist Steve Lacy on the third and fifth track. In a different light, she even did a single called “Rewind” for the fourth season of the HBO series “Insecure” in April of 2020.
Her bond with Steve Lacy grew even more after releasing a single with the artist called “Skin Tight” in February of 2022. We can say confidently that 2022 was a big year for Lenae. She then released her debut album called “Hypnos” in May which again featured Steve Lacy as well as a few other artists like Mereba, Smino, and Fousheé.
In that same year, she dropped a remix for her song “Xtasy” which appeared on her debut album. The remix featured artist Doechii and dropped on September 14th. It didn’t stop there. She released another single called “Inside Out – A COLORS SHOW” on September 29th which was a new take on the third track of her “Hypnos” album.
New Upcoming Album and Tour
Ravyn Lenae now has her new upcoming album that will drop on August 9th this year- very soon. The album is titled “Bird’s Eye” and already has four songs that have dropped, “One Wish” with Childish Gambino, “Dream Girl” with Ty Dolla $ign, “Love Is Blind”, and “Love Me Not”.
Lenae will also be on tour starting on August 10th up until November 19th with a total of 18 shows booked. She will be performing all over the states, including New York and Los Angeles, and even abroad in Berlin, Denmark, France, and the UK.
