Welcome back everyone, to another jam sesh for Sonido Global! This week, you’ll be listening to the likes of RaiNao, tulengua, Mau y Ricky, and so on to get the best kind of international mix! Your weekend’s guaranteed to get even better.
Manuel Turizo & Yandel “Mamasota”
A whole cinematic production, the music video for “Mamasota” starts with what you think is some badass heist/coup type of scheme that ends up being just a pretty intense fantasy over a beautiful woman that Manuel Turizo and Yandel spot across the street. That fantasy is very reflective of the lyrics to this slow reggaeton banger about a women you might see and can’t help but think about risking it all for.
Lenny Tavárez, Feid “EMPELOTICA”
An ideal tune for a sensual perreo, “EMPELOTICA” showcases the fire combination that comes with Lenny Tavárez and Feid working their flows and lyricism together. Without a doubt, this is a great groove date night. The video comes with some dope camera pans and shots throughout the track, and this is another great, slow reggaeton ballad to remember.
Wisin & Gabito Ballesteros “UN SHOT”
Legendary Puerto Rican reggaetonero, Wisin, joins forces with Mexican corridos tumbados trailblazer, Gabito Ballesteros to create the lit fusion that is “UN SHOT.” This contemporary mix of traditional sounds is unique and a whole vibe. Above all, it’s the kind of song you can listen to on a laid back night of drinking with friends. The music video itself also shows a cool contrast of gangster with old-school instrumentation.
Kany García & Young Miko “En Esta Boca”
Both hailing from Puerto Rico, pop princess, Kany García and Latin trap artist, Young Miko team up to come out with an incredible bachata track to show that there’s no reason to be held down by your usual genre as an artist. While you definitely see each of their personal flairs stand out, “En Esta Boca” is something special for both puertorriqueñas. The music video is giving queer Latina Coyote Ugly. Let me just say, I need that to be real life ASAP.
KAROL G & Tiësto “CONTIGO”
A pretty epic collaboration, KAROL G and Tiësto, “CONTIGO” is a beautiful, electronic pop ballad about knowing exactly who you want to be your person at the end of it all but being afraid of that love at the same time. Now, I had no idea Young Miko was also going to make an appearance in the music video when I first listened to and chose this song for Sonido Global, but I am definitely not mad about it! The video depicts such an adorable love story, fitting the lyricism so well.
tulengua “alchémie”
Firstly, what I can immediately say about “alchémie” by tulengua is it’s a bilingual, multi-genre banger. This track seamlessly blends hip-hop, R&B, and electronica with synth-tones, urban wordplay, and smooth melodies. In doing so, tulengua has shown a talent of exceeding expectations when it comes to producing a completely unique sound.
Mau y Ricky “Pasado Mañana”
Here’s some Alternativo music to throw into the mix that’s great to jam out to. For anybody into the pop rock kind of feel, Mau y Ricky‘s latest is a great choice to listen to. One of the latest releases for their upcoming album, “Pasado Mañana” is just a feel good hit that you can easily cruise to and just appreciate the now with. The video is perfectly reflective of that vibe as you see the Venezuelan brothers happily drive around through beautiful landscapes.
Christian Alicea, Luis Figueroa, Moa Rivera “El Swing 2.0 (feat. Luis Vasquez)”
This is for the salsa lovers! Despite the surging popularity of reggaeton and Latin hip-hop, there’s still much love in the Spanish-speaking world for the classics. El Swing 2.0 is sure to get you dancing over and over with its infectious salsa beats that contain hints of modern twists. All in all, there’s something about salsa that just really gives an inevitable boost of Hispanic pride that you’re guaranteed to love.
RaiNao & Tainy “roadhead”
While you may not hear or see Tainy in steamy “roadhead” performed by RaiNao, his presence is definitely made known in his production value throughout the single as it consists of sensually pulsating beats that match the theme perfectly. As for RaiNao herself, this Puerto Rican up and comer is hot in all senses of the word. We love a woman that owns her sexuality unapologetically, just like RaiNao does here.
Omar Montes, L.A.X, Big Papa313 “MI AMOR”
Lastly, this soft and smooth ballad helps wrap this round of Sonido Global selections up by winding down the mood and chilling out the vibes. Additionally, MI AMOR is a love song meant to tug on the heart strings of those who love hard. This tune has a bit of reggaeton, afrobeats, and string instrumentals to bring on one cohesive bop that’s easy to dance to.
Stay tuned in two weeks for the next Sonido Global to give you the hottest Hispanic and Latin hits to reach the soundwaves! Until then RMR Fam, keep having a good time with the official Sonido Global Spotify playlist.
