Mountain Hi is a newer name in the i502 game producing a lot of clean BHO, oil, and shatter near Arlington. They also keep some of the premium flower they produce for your smoking pleasure. Recently they’ve put out a whole new line of strains, one of which is a real pretty looking Purple Punch. I got my hands on a gram of this relatively popular strain to cultivate an opinion.
Outright I like the looks of the nug when I see its colors pop from within the white Mylar packaging. When I open the bag I’m not immediately met with as strong of a scent as I hoped, but for the affordable price-point of Mountain Hi’s buds I can’t complain. I broke the nug open to get a better sniff to much avail as I caught strong whiffs of a fruit medley, with notes of earthy sweetness. Naturally I broke the nug down further and twisted up a tightly wound joint.
While taking long draws from the joint on my back porch I held the smoke in my mouth to pick up more flavor in the way you would at a wine tasting. This is where I caught a lot more of the fruity, gassy flavor I had previously smelled. Mountain Hi’s Purple Punch is a cross between Grandaddy Purple and Larry OG so the flavor profile fit well.
The high that followed was a relaxing bodily sensation that made re-runs of Cheers sound like a chill rest of my night. The high wasn’t too strong, but just enough to relax my nerves and take away the stress of the impending work of tomorrow.
