The Ohio Cannabis Expo is back, taking place in Canton on November 1-2, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. This event is set to dive deep into Ohio’s growing cannabis industry, offering attendees a unique opportunity to engage, learn, and connect with leaders and innovators across the cannabis space.
One of this year’s highlights is the “Athletes and Cannabis” panel, moderated by Erin Babcock, founder of EEErinergy and new media partner with Respect My Region. Erin, an educator, brand ambassador, and content director, brings a wealth of experience and insight as she leads this conversation with athletes who have embraced cannabis for recovery, wellness, and overall balance in their routines.
Erin Babcock: From Athlete to Cannabis Educator
Erin Babcock, moderator of the “Athletes and Cannabis” panel at the Ohio Cannabis Expo, brings her experience as an athlete and her deep knowledge of cannabis science with her.
Erin played collegiate soccer at the University of Akron, where she earned a B.S. in Exercise Science. Initially considering a career in conventional medicine, she pivoted to natural health after realizing her purpose aligned more with empowering others through holistic and sustainable wellness.
Erin’s inital start in the cannabis industry involved partnering in a CBD retail and manufacturing store, and, while managing the business, she pursued and completed a Master’s in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics.
She then created her brand, EEErinergy, through which she educates communities, athletic teams, and workplaces on cannabis, the endocannabinoid system (ECS), and sustainable health. She also collaborates with respected ethical and sustainable brands to elevate their media, marketing, and sales using her expertise in education, content creation, and account relations.
Joey Brabo, Chief Operations Officer of Respect My Region, shared his excitement about Erin joining the team: “We’re thrilled to welcome Erin. With her Master’s in Medical Cannabis Science and hands-on industry experience, she’ll bring fresh, valuable perspectives to our audience and add depth to the conversations we’re having and creating in the cannabis space.”
Ohio Cannabis Expo Spotlight on “Athletes and Cannabis”
With sports leagues like the NCAA and others adjusting their policies on cannabis, there’s a shift in how the plant is viewed within athletics. This evolving perspective is opening doors for athletes to explore cannabis for its mental and physical benefits, though continued education is key.
Erin’s panel will feature firsthand accounts from athletes who have integrated cannabis into their wellness routines, showing how the plant complements their performance and recovery. The discussion promises to unpack the stigma that often surrounds cannabis in sports and provide a platform for open, informative dialogue on the subject.
Ohio Cannabis Expo Awards Dinner: Honoring the Best in Ohio
The event culminates on November 2 with the Ohio Cannabis Awards Dinner, a celebration crowning the best cultivators, processors, and brands in the Ohio cannabis market. This awards dinner will honor the standout innovators who are shaping the future of cannabis in Ohio, recognizing excellence across categories and offering a night of appreciation for the industry’s top talent.
