NWM Cee Murdaa proved 30 Deep isn’t slowing down with the release of “Top Shelf.” Bags of dope and digital guns float through the video. It’s halfway between humorous and psychotic, which is totally on-brand for the STL based rapper.
Right after Grimeyy recently dropped one of the hottest projects on the scene, (Grimeyy 2 Society) both Murdaa and Grimeyy came out with banging videos. “Top Shelf” features as effortlessly chill visuals to complement the endless pour of Murdaa bars.
The 30 Deep crew been making a wave that’s half-danceable and half-reportable. Line after line hits too direct to be purely artistic. However, the momentum Murdaa dribbles with just gets right past that. Bro is “Top Shelf” himself with a record of unique hits.
Party With “Top Shelf” and See the Fruits of Hell
Any of the rappers out of 30 Deep aren’t shy in admitting the struggle that coming out of STL brings with it. Guns, drugs, and bucks, the whole video revels in flexing the lifestyle, but the lyrics are relentless. Almost every song with 30 Deep members features talking about shit that means they’re going to have a tough time getting radio play. Murdaa makes music for the streets, but it might just bang hard enough to get into the real mainstream.
Of course, the crew stays dripping throughout the video, and the minimal setting does exactly what it needs to. While longtime listeners won’t be surprised by the video, it’s fire. Murdaa keeps easy and tense with “Top Shelf” staying on top of his delivery and appearance, but without looking strained or anything. Instead, the young rapper looks like he just climbed another rung on his way to the top. Considering the work 30 Deep has stayed putting in, there’s no way they don’t hit it this year or next year. Detroit has already pulled up, STL is undeniably up next.
