The Nike SB has long been considered a pillar of sneaker culture. With its many iterations and collaborations, the silhouette has long stood the test of time.
The most forthcoming release is a long-awaited collaboration between superstar streetwear brand Staple and industry giant Nike.
Staple, a New York-based brand created by Jeff Staples mirrors the grit and triumphant nature of New Yorkers. Originally started as a hobby, Staple has turned into a powerhouse since it’s birth in 1997. Their logo, the Pigeon, is synonymous with quality and exclusivity.
Finally, after a long wait, the illustrious Pigeon Nike SB will make its return in the upcoming week.
However, this is not the first time that the Pigeon has been sited on a pair of SBs. March 2005 saw the original release of the Nike “Pigeon” SBs. With Jeff Staple as the mastermind, they have consequently been considered one of the best shoes of all time.
This year’s release continues to take a brand new spin on the Pigeon’s legacy. Featuring green bamboo inspired elements throughout. The soles of the sneaker showcase the original headlines from the shoe’s first release. Along with these additions, you can also find “Stample” scribbled inside.
Furthermore, these original ideas on a classic shoe show us the continuity of Jeff Staple’s designs.
Long known for their affordability, these SB’s are similarly marked at a reasonable $100 before tax. At Staple’s request, the releases have been stagnated but the remaining releases can be found down below.
