Nicki Minaj has released her new single titled “Rich Sex” featuring Lil Wayne following the announcement of her upcoming new album titled Queen that is set for release this August. While we have seen new music from Nicki in the form of “Barbie Tingz” and “Chun-Li” in recent months, she has delivered yet another new single which may be considered to be her strongest one yet ahead of the new album.
While Nicki does her thing as she normally does through the track list, it is both refreshing and welcoming to hear Lil Wayne rapping again. After settling the lawsuits with Birdman and Cash Money Records, Lil Wayne hasn’t wasted any time by hopping on “Rich Sex” so quickly. Even though it isn’t surprising, we see him return to his original form as he raps his creative yet raunchy lyrics in lines such as “Let’s fuck on the money ‘fore we count that, that’s some rich shit”.
The overall instrumental heard on “Rich Sex” is both fun and catchy, as a light and reflective piano is heard as the main lead of the song. The beat has a trap centered feel that can be heard in the prolonged 808’s and frequent hits. The instrumental paired with the risqué lyrics seen in both Minaj’s and Wayne’s verses is destined to be a track that will be closely followed in the upcoming weeks.
