New Track City Releases ‘Freedom Summer’ Playlist | Federal Way

Rising Federal Way hip-hop collective New Track City slides in with a new playlist entitled Freedom Summer.

The playlist title is inspired by a Civil Rights campaign that shares the same name. Comprised of African American citizens, the freedom fighters banded together with the goal of tasting true freedom. Channeling influence from classic hip-hop like A Tribe Called Quest, Camp Lo, and Outkast, the trio of hip-hop musicians expands today’s culture’s cry for freedom intertwined with an updated sound of today’s realm. Produced almost entirely by New Track City member Dru Beats, the team found a new lane for their music with the playlist.
