Looks like Drake held his end of the bargain on More Life’s, “Do Not Disturb,” when he rapped “I’ll be back in 2018 to give you the summary,” In the last 24 hours Drake released not one, but two new records, “God’s Plan,” & “Diplomatic Immunity.” Other than the leaked preview of “Pistols,” this is the first music we’ve seen from Drake since summer ’17. Can we expect a new Drake album on the way?
The 6 God is usually pretty cryptic in relation to his social media and music releases. Before Views, we would hear him use the word ‘views’ in different songs and features. He gave us the same look prior to the More Life release. It’s pretty typical of Drake to give us a clouded look into what he’s foreshadowing.
We didn’t really receive any of those hints from More Life leading us up to present day, and I like the new approach. The only hints received were from his Instagram, depicting a Drake who appears to be in album mode.
What can we expect?
More Life featured many artists we hadn’t seen on a Drake project before, and I think that will continue. It’s been confirmed Drake has been working with up & coming acts like Pierre Bourne, also Trippie Redd, who RMR has predicted to be one of 2018’s XXL Freshman. We never saw The Weeknd or Rae Sremmurd collabs rumored to appear on More Life, so it’ll be exciting to see what new growth we’ll hear.
What month do you think Drake’s new album is dropping? Do you think it will be feature heavy? Will we see a new Drake pushing the envelope? Or will see a familiar Drake in the form that we’ve seen him take over hip-hop with?
