NECANN Boston 2023, the largest conference and exhibition in New England for the cannabis industry, took place on March 10-12 at the Hynes Convention Center. The event saw a packed tradeshow floor filled with retail staff, cannabis business investors, entrepreneurs of all types, and of course, consumers.
The conference itself featured a sold-out floor of exhibitors, the coveted NECANN Cup, and over 100 expert speakers covering a wide range of topics spread across cultivation, manufacturing, distribution, retail, finance, legal, and social justice issues.
NECANN Boston 2023 showcased the latest trends, innovations, and challenges in the cannabis industry and provided a platform for networking, education, and advocacy. The event emphasized the importance of responsible and sustainable cannabis business practices and social equity initiatives.
Featuring a wide variety of retailers, brands, ancillary companies, and more, this tradeshow featured numerous groups who went above and beyond to create a memorable experience.
Upon walking into the event, AYR Wellness had the first space inside the doors and utilized it to provide delicious terpene-infused cake pops, one of which came from their Lemon Cherry Gelato flower.
Further, into the showroom floor, our friends at Orange Photonics set up an incredible on-site testing experience for flower, edibles, beverages, and concentrates. Legendary television host Montel Williams (seen below), was working his booth for his brand, Inspire. The homies over at Berkshire Roots launched a collaborative product with the highly-respected team at Heavy Metal. Nature’s Heritage set up a beautiful activation featuring the incredibly delicious Betty’s Eddies fruit chews.
Trade Roots, one of the groups that hosted Respect My Region for a tour of their dispensary and cannabis manufacturing, was located across from our friends at Harbor House. Their area in the convention was poppin’ the entire time it felt like.
NECANN Boston 2023 didn’t just host a great tradeshow experience. This year, the cannabis community united together outside of the convention for numerous mixers, happy hours, and afterparties.
Notable events were hosted by some of the most recognized groups in cannabis. Popular point-of-sale technology company Treez hosted a powerful happy hour mixer. The Temeka Group paired up with The Flower Expo, New Dia, Blaze, and Springbig for a historic night at the Boston Red Sox’s Fenway Park.
Spoiler alert, we 100% got to smoke inside the stadium.
RMR attended numerous events and this time we actually partnered up with Orange Photonics, Qwik Liquids, United Cultivation, Fat Nugs Magazine, and 3 Good Buds to host the first annual MASS GRASS mixer.
An event that saw more than 300 people in attendance, our team was blessed with a space to host our podcast and we definitely smoked more than 20 joints. Devin Alexander at Rolling Releaf Delivery joined Mitch for a quick interview. Matt from United Cultivation stopped by for a solid conversation where we discussed the Massachusetts market.
Overall, NECANN Boston 2023 was a huge success and demonstrated the growing momentum and diversity of the cannabis industry in New England and beyond. The next NECANN conferences are scheduled to take place in Vermont, Connecticut, Illinois, Maine, New Jersey, and New York later this year.
