Naylon: From Midwest to LA – A Rising Pop Star

Naylon, from Omaha, Nebraska, is a moody-pop star easily recognized by her euphonious voice. Transitioning to her current endeavors, Naylon is currently located in Los Angeles, where she is relishing the opportunity to collaborate with others in the music industry. Describing her music as electronic-pop or even dark pop, Naylon has many more songs to release.

Growing up in the Midwest, Naylon recalls loving music as young as 3 years old. As she grew older, Naylon continued to immerse herself in music, progressing from performing solos at school recitals to joining musical theater. “I wanted to do music, I just didn’t know how,” Naylon recalls.

Naylon Begins on SoundCloud

Once in college at Millikin University, Naylon studied Musical Theatre. This led her to joining a student club, Millikin Artist Guild, where Martel McGee helped her release her first SoundCloud song, Insanity. This encouraging experience led Naylon to wanting to pursue a music career.

Struggling to find her place in Nebraska, Naylon recalls needing to find a place where she could grow musically. Transitioning to her source of inspiration, Naylon was particularly inspired by Lady Gaga, loving the way Lady Gaga was true to herself. “I let my fear hold me back,” Naylon wants others to know that now is the time to do it. “Start now, don’t wait, just do.”

Naylon visited Los Angeles a few times, without knowing anybody at all during her first visit. However, after a few trips, she realized she needed to relocate herself there. “In a city this big, there’s so many creative people.” Naylon enjoys collaborating with others including  Dex Barstad, FERRO, and Oscar Neidhardt, and claims there’s not any shortage of that in L.A.

More Music From Pop Star Naylon

Man In The Moon is a song about feeling alone in a relationship. “The moon is a metaphor for something you can depend on.” Naylon says she created this song in Sweden when she collaborated with Husky and Pug. It was a last-minute opportunity that Naylon eagerly pursued.

“If you don’t ask, the answer is always going to be no.”

Naylon aims to release a single each month, with Pretend We’re Kids coming soon. Teased 5 years ago, Naylon is excited to finally release it. “It’s about wanting to hold onto a love that feels free and young,” Naylon explains.
