Shakira & Cardi B – Punteria

It’s finally here, y’all!! The 12th album for Shakira, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran has made its debut worldwide and already receiving crazy buzz. Are we surprised though? This week, we’re showcasing “Punteria” a hit made by Shakira with none other than Cardi B. The song has such a bubbly beat and mood while the songstress and rapper tell a story of being struck and enchanted by someone that may not be the most deserving of either of these goddesses’ affections. Speaking of goddesses, the music video clearly has a mythology theme with dreamy and pastel soft girl vibes that make it so aesthetically pleasing to watch.

El Alfa ft. Maluma, NLE Choppa, Donaty – SACUDELO

Right off rip, you got El Alfa spewing his signature rapid fire delivery to a beat that bounces in just the way you want to shake it to (pun intended for those that understand what “SACUDELO” means). Donaty supplies the catchy chorus throughout the song, Maluma comes in with his suave vocals to bring in some sensuality to the song and NLE Choppa gives the track a bilingual twist the doesn’t skip a beat. The fusion of reggaeton, trap, and dancehall makes for a production that fits in any club or party scene. The video only emphasizes this point with carefree and fun loving dance scenes.

Anitta, Brray & Bad Gyal – Double Team

Anitta and Bad Gyal effortlessly transition from bars to melodies throughout “Double Team” with Anitta supplying flirtatious vibes and Bad Gyal going for more seductive approaches. Brray comes in hot with rhythmic verses that add an extra layer of urban tones to the bop. With each of these artists bringing their individual styles to the collab, you hear hints of reggaeton, electronica and pop all in one! Whenever you’re feeling yourself and your sexuality, this is definitely a song you should be putting on to get you in that mood. The music video depicting an underground party is an added visual representation of embracing sensuality.

Nelly Furtado & Juanes – GALA Y DALÍ

This is a track that just released today, and I had to make sure it was on the list! Truthfully, I couldn’t write Sonido Global and let “GALA Y DALÍ” go unnoticed. Nelly Furtado and Juanes have put out iconic collaborations in the past but haven’t done so since 2006’s “Te Busqué”! Named after Salvador Dalí and his wife, this duo’s latest release is reminiscent by making references to 2002’s “Fotografía”. Also, the song and video was recorded in the same studio as “Te Busque”. Overall, this single’s just pure danceable happiness, and it’s such a treat for long time fans of these two (myself included)!

Ovy On The Drums, Myke Towers, Saiko – DESATAAA

A pulsating and mesmeric combination, this trio take a song like “DESATAAA” and make it into an irresistible reggaeton sound that you’re going to want to keep on listening to. Producer, Ovy On The Drums makes a backdrop consisting of keyboard riffs, synthesizers and classic Latin percussive beats that will keep your head bopping throughout not just this track, but in the entire EP he’s done with Myke Towers, CASSETTE 01. Myke Towers and Saiko seamlessly flow off each other’s lyricism and presentation in both the song and video, making “DESATAAA” infectious and, weirdly enough, somewhat calming and chill.

Reik – Abril

“Abril” by Reik is a real heart breaker of a ballad. For anyone that’s ever regretted leaving a certain special love in their life, this is for you. “Abril” talks about the month of April in multiple different ways with various symbolisms. Reik reminisces of an old relationship, its first kiss and hopes for love to blossom once again. The instrumentals stay simple yet beautiful, leaving the listener to really focus in on the storytelling. The story becomes that much more captivating with the artistically shot music video. It’s colorful and also successful in showing raw sadness and affection.

Nicole Zignago & Camilo – mimos

Two very dear friends, Nicole Zignago & Camilo display beautiful synergy in “mimos”. A song about the classic dilemma of, “Will they? Won’t they?” this production has you seeing, hearing and feeling the emotions of frustration and longing deep in your soul. The harmonization between these two talents during the chorus kind of reminds me of The xx in a way. However, they manage to give a completely different sound with their mix of Latin pop and soft/contemporary rock. Everything from the angles to the movements of the music video also give that contemporary and emotional feel, mirroring the song perfectly.

El Dusty – Súbelo ID0002-24

Showing off the fire of what Latin EDM can offer, El Dusty brings in some serious heat with “Súbelo ID0002-24!” This genre transcending hit is such an insane fusion of Latin rhythms and EDM. The light trumpets swirling around vibrating bass lines gives a contrasting that is so satisfying and infectious. The tempo just keeps on elevating as El Dusty builds up to the drop. Honestly, it’s genuinely hard to not start moving to this groove. We need to keep showing the love for Latin DJs because they produce electronic music in such a special way.

Danny Ocean – Cero Condiciones

Ultimately, Danny Ocean‘s “Cero Condiciones” is all about being unapologetically yourself. No one has the power to tell you who you are except yourself, and that’s something we should all remember. This track serves as a fantastic reminder of that theme while also having a dope electronic beat. The beat’s a little lounge-y but could also easily be something to blast in the club or underground rave. The video gives underground rave vibes too with different shots of people dancing, letting loose and being their uncompromised selves.

Sueños Perdidos (Remix) – BroKix, Esteban Rojas, Feid & Justin Quiles

BroKix, Esteban Rojas, Feid & Justin Quiles join forces on a track with classic reggaeton beats accompanied by a sad message. While the cadence is something anyone could easily dance to, the lyricism tells a story of regret and desire. While each of these artists could be living it up with the perks of being who they are, that doesn’t mean at the end of they don’t dream of having other things. The material things can only be satisfying for so long especially when love isn’t the equation.

As always, these and many of our past choices are ready for your enjoyment at all times on our official Spotify playlist. If there’s anything you want to see included on this list, be sure to let us know! We hope you’ve enjoyed Sondio Global this week and stay tuned for the next one.
