The legalization of cannabis has paved the way for historical strains at a range of price points. Mountain Hi has taken Grand Daddy Purple and turned it into a slab style concentrate. This indica strain is a cross between Purple Urkle and Big Bud. One of the more popular strains during the prohibition days it has remained a staple in some people’s rotations.
Mountain Hi’s concentrate packaging features an all-white with a sketch of a mountain in gold resting above their logo. The concentrate protrudes from the plastic packaging. The use of lighter colors allows the concentrate to be the focal point. I think that some brands focus so much on the logo that it takes away from their product. Mountain Hi prevents that problem from happening.
I removed the silicone seal from the top of the concentrate jar. A faint grape aroma could be smelled as I cracked the seal. The concentrate almost sparkled in places as if it was filled with tiny stars. The light amber color paired with the rough texture created a visually appealing concentrate. When I dug my dabber into the slab of concentrate it easily broke apart allowing me to scoop a manageably sized dab. I dropped a match head sized dab into my banger. While the flavor of this Grand Daddy Purple wasn’t as potent as others I’ve tried, the hit was exceptionally smooth. The dab I had definitely did the trick and I spent most of the morning spacing out on my couch watching football.
