MJBizCon continues to be the biggest way the cannabis industry can blow out the end of the year. Some multiple of 10’s of thousands of attendees comprised of active and aspiring cannabis industry professionals ascended to the desert of Las Vegas for the 2022 MJBizCon trade show.
The convention has grown to a massive size. We’re talking full-term Emerald Triangle outdoor size of growth. This year, the convention took place on both floors of the South Hall in an absolutely outstanding size of floor space. I know many of us had back and knee aches just from navigating a single floor of this year’s spread, let alone both!
While large-scale machinery and ancillary tech companies take up much of the floor space, our staff found the second edition of the Hall of Flowers activation space incredibly valuable to check out brands from across the country and focus on plant-touching businesses solely. This was a great space to not only meet with booths but like-minded individuals all looking to grab perspective from active operators in various markets.
Booths and activations ranged from magic tricks to large-scale set-ups with cars and machines running down to foldable tables with staff sitting in front of their cell phones. In a sea of “everything,” it’s surprising to still see a lack of effort from sponsors that paid a pretty ticket to surf TikTok here. A clear stand-out activation that we saw was the Black Cannabis Magazine takeover on Thursday. Hazy and crew put on a stellar panel with Xzibit, Redman, Trick Trick, and Luka Brazi. There was an amazing game being shed by leaders in the cannabis space and unmatched energy provided by Black culture gathering and sharing game.
Our team attended the convention on Wednesday and Thursday while conducting 10 interviews with cannabis professionals (see the playlist below). We went to various after-parties and even recorded a live podcast episode at the HUSH House Las Vegas event. It was great being able to link with so many like-minded individuals in one space after seeing so many folks around the country in their respective regions on the North American Weed Tour.
