Minorities for Medical Marijuana (M4MM) and Their Vision
Alabama has seen significant disparities in marijuana-related arrests and convictions, particularly among minority communities. Project Clean Slate Alabama addresses these inequities, providing much-needed relief and setting a precedent for similar initiatives in other states.
Expungement can significantly impact an individual’s life, removing the barriers posed by a criminal record and allowing for greater opportunities in employment, housing, and education. By clearing minor marijuana convictions, Project Clean Slate aimed to reduce the long-lasting negative impacts on minority communities disproportionately affected by marijuana criminalization.
