Despite a delay, Migos and YoungBoy Never Broke Again have delivered on their promise. “Need It” is an instantly classic music video. Taking a note from “WAP” music video, the video shows the quartet paying homage to another 90’s cult classic film – Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood.
Migos flex their creative muscle dawning different era-inspired looks and sets. Offset takes inspiration from Marlon Wayans’ Loc Dog, sporting an inspired hairstyle and wardrobe. From the signature pacifier and condom, Offset looks the part while wilding out with YoungBoy and crew in a lowrider. Quavo stays true to the 90’s theme with yellow pinstripe overalls and a beeper. Red-hot denim-clad Saweetie hops on a motorcycle with her man Quavo decked out in color-blocked leather attire.
The on-screen energy between Migos and YoungBoy perfectly matches the chemistry portrayed in the song. The track, which samples 50 Cent’s “Get In My Car” has already garnered over 30 million streams. The video arrives ahead of the group’s third installment of their Culture series, which may no longer be entitled Culture III.
“Ever since ‘Bad and Boujee’ went No. 1 and then we dropped Culture and Culture II, I’ve heard the word culture so much,” Offset said in a recent interview with Migos and GQ. “…So I’ve been thinking of a plan to make something as powerful or more powerful.”
YoungBoy Never Broke Again has a new album scheduled for release on September 11, which will feature his pending Nicki Minaj collaboration.
