This intense baroque pop, alt-rock single titled “Do You Believe” was just released by Sidney local Michael P Cullen. Alongside Tim Powles from the legendary Australian band ‘The Church,’ Michael tells a riveting story of frustration, doubt, and fear of loss. Masterfully led by Michael’s vocals and carried by guitar and organ chords, this suspenseful 60’s Vegas Cabaret of gothic Americana is touching and deep.
The production is accompanied by a video of a woman who hopelessly walks the city streets, running from a marriage almost beyond reprieve. This official music video, starring Morgane Housset and produced, directed and edited by Graham Gall, pairs perfectly with Michael’s sound, leaving viewers encompassed in the longing despair that Michael invokes.
Michael P Cullen – Do You Believe
Michael’s untempered sound has been compared to the likes of Tom Waits, Leanard Cohen, Nick Cave, Depeche Mode, and Tinder Sticks. “Do You Believe” first appeared in Love Transmitter, Michael’s 2012 debut album, and has since been rerecorded.
