Maxwell James Releases five-track Self-Titled Roots/Folk-Rock EP

From Nashville, Tennessee, Maxwell James is creating Americana that is well worth the listen. Maxwell just dropped his Self-titled five-track EP. His first released collection, Maxwell is hitting the mark with his first shot with twangy guitar licks, heartfelt lyrics and southern style that makes Nashville a special place for music.

Although I can’t say much that I dislike about any of these tracks, “Roll Down Your Window Slowly” would have to be my favorite for its edgy lyrical storytelling and beat a beat that carries you along with the heaviness and attitude of true southern rock and roll.

Overall, this album hits a special musical nerve for me that I’m happy to have tucked away somewhere in the cloud, for instant access on my next road trip or BBQ. I enjoyed the easygoing melody of “Blatantly,” the softness of “When It’s Real,” the heavy, unrelenting tone of “Feed My Evolution,” and the storytelling ability of the EP as a whole. There’s a sort of clarity and deliberation within the music and lyrics that can really spark a match.

If you enjoyed this EP, go give Maxwell James a follow on social media and stay tuned for more music to come!

Maxwell James is from Nashville, TN, not born in Wales.
