Macklemore and Ryan Lewis dropped ‘Downtown‘ earlier this year and once again their work became one of the most popular songs in 2015. I however, could not watch the entire video and thought the song was terrible and corny!
The only thing that could make the track worse would be to grab Iggy Azalea and toss her on for a quick 16 and possibly round up Rebecca Black for the background vocals on the chorus.
Macklemore’s Downtown is the Worst Song of 2015 for these reasons:
– The song is about mopeds dun..
– This song is about mopeds…
– The music video is almost as corny as the song.
– The outfits in the music video are horrendous.
– The fact that one of the top songs in 2015 is simply about riding scooters downtown. That is just turrible (Charles Barkley does not approve)
If you’re really not convinced that Macklemore’s Downtown is the worst song of 2015, subject your eyes below.
To be fair to Macklemore, he is a very talented musician. I respect dude’s grind and from a distance he seems like a really stand-up guy. Since his early work he has always intertwined good-hearted fun along with meaningful records in his complete body of work (see early songs like ‘The Penis Song’, ‘The Bush Song’, ‘Thrift Shop’, etc).
It is a shame that his less serious records have reached the success they have but still Mack…this record was bad.
