Bend, Oregon is home to Lux Edibles, who is taking edible cannabis in a different, yet sweet direction—nut butter. When you think of edibles it’s usually brownies, cookies, candies, and other sugary sweets. Winning the 2017 Dope Cup for Best Sweet Edible, you would think they were pushing out your typical edible fodder. Instead, they’ve taken the rock of the green, health-conscious movement, and applied it to cannabis. The result is a vegan, sweet, and tasty nut butter…infused with a 50mg kick of THC distillate.
What sets apart this company’s endeavors in the edible community is the encouragement of the consumer to “dip diversely.” This idea means to not enjoy the edible solely, but pair it with apples, celery, bread, whatever goes well with a sweet nut butter! You can dip any of your favorite foods in Lux’s award-winning product and get variety, as well as a nice high.
Lux is industrious in their product, as well as their business. Since 2018, they’ve spread themselves into over 150 shops in Oregon. With plans to breach the 360 mark as soon as possible, Lux Edibles is a name you can find widely distributed. They’ve partnered with Nova Paths Distribution, who handles over 75 percent of Oregon’s cannabis industry transportation, carrying, and overall middle-manning. Nova Paths has a firm grip on the cannabis industry, as their business expands from brands like Lux in Oregon to Marley Natural in California and Washington.
Brands like Lux Edibles and those finding profitable niches in the market such as Nova Pass Distribution are changing and expanding the game. It’s no longer savory cannabis-infused candies, it’s vegan, essentially an alternative “superfood.”
Co-founder Bryan Azur highlighted that THC binds better with fat contained in the nut butter. This sparked his idea for a sweet, paleo-diet-friendly product that can give many non-smokers a healthy alternative to non-prescription pain-relief and relaxation.
