Louis Futon took this nonchalant clip on his phone showing the process of breaking down and flipping Childish Gambino’s track “Telegraph Ave.” to effortlessly assimilate a new piece of art.
The video starts with the three artists finding an a cappella of the song to use as a loop for their flip. They begin to beat match the loop, and then add bass, chords, melody, beat, and a guitar lick, one piece at a time. The result is an extraordinary and underrated flip.

The amazing thing about the video is how easy these guys make it look to beat match, and how flawlessly they put everything together. It made for a beautiful showcase of their creative talent.
My favorite part of the flip was at the first drop around one minute into the song. I was really feeling the buildup and transition, which bleed into a perfect Louis The Child drop, exactly what I’ve come to expect from the pair.
The track repeats a similar style, bleeding into rap, and then transitioning to another drop. The song closes with Louis Futon’s looped guitar lick, fitting seamlessly over Childish Gambino’s lyrics.
