This week RMR is continuing our new series Local Music Wednesday. Where we are discussing local artists in the Seattle area that we have been following. These artists are consistently releasing music and playing shows in the Seattle area. Whether you are looking for new local music to listen to, or you want to go to more local concerts this summer, we have you covered!
For this week’s Local Music Wednesday, we have a long list of great local artists. This includes PaidTay, Ralphy Davis, JiggaCity, Pistol P and more!
PaidTay
To start us off, PaidTay is a local artist who has been doing some sick things. He released a great music video for his tune “Still Alive (feat. Gunna Goof)” in early May. The song itself is fantastic, it includes a sampled midi guitar loop, a dope beat as well as some great sound effects. Both rappers are spitting some great bars and the catchy loop got stuck in my head immediately. The video was directed by Landoedidit and it is worth checking out for sure.
JiggaCity
Another local artist who has been killing the game recently is JiggaCity. He recently released a great new song “Cutting Ties” and he is proving that he can rap like an absolute pro. The song has an extremely catchy beat as well as some great vocal samples and synth parts. The lyrics are overall reflective of his past; the tune is stacked full of great lines and includes a great hook. Overall, JiggaCity is an artist to look out for!
RayyLowkeyy
Our next artist, local rapper RayyLowkeyy has been in our ears recently as well. One of his standout tracks is “Fake Love (feat. Cardi O.K.)” which was released on July 10th. The song is a great example of collaboration and both rappers hold their own vocally and lyrically. The beat is unique and includes lots of hits as well as a heavy crash and kick sound. Both local artists stay in the pocket throughout the track further proving their talent!
Pistol P
Local artist Pistol P is also making some great stuff. I’ve had his track “Murder Me (feat. CTB Scoob) on repeat. The song is high-hat driven and also has a great distorted bass line. Both Pistol P and CTB Scoob are killing it lyrically with some deep lines as well as some hilarious ones.
BtBully
Continuing on, our next artist is local rapper Btbully, who released a great collaboration album with Cotto this past January. The record is titled, Cotto The Bully and includes 12 dope tunes. One of the standout tracks is “You Still Love Me? (feat. 9lani). The song has some great lines from both rappers as well as some great female vocal samples throughout. Do yourself a favor and listen to the full album, you won’t be disappointed.
H2K BabyDemon
Another artist to look out for is H2K BabyDemon. He was recently featured on CityScape Sessions and his performance is not one to miss. H2K rapped over an incredible beat and he had some sick bars. He is definitely going to continue to make a name for himself!
GMD Cash
GMD CASH has also been delivering some fire tracks recently. This summer he released a dope music video for his track “Feeling like big Meech.” The song is full of some great but hilarious lines as well as a beat that goes super hard. The video is great and has racked up over 25k views. Check it out!
Ralphy Davis
Lastly, to round out this week’s episode we have rapper Ralphy Davis. This past Monday, Davis released his new record Purpose Over Opinion, it includes 10 songs and has been getting a lot of attention. So far the standout track getting the most streams is “Bet That (feat. MikeJack3200),” and it is absolutely amazing. Davis is rapping like no other and the production is super polished. The album is overall full of some amazing rapping and great production and mixing, it is worth listening to.
