Kung Foo Grip is perhaps the most prolific duo in Seattle hip-hop’s history. Greg Cypher and Eff Is H bounce rhymes off one another with a chemistry that can only be matched by Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg. I mean honestly, if you haven’t got to see these dudes live…find the nearest show now!
The duo not only packs a punch on wax, their energy clearly transfers to the stage and everyday life. KFG’s sound is like real life, containing a mixture of conscious thoughts, lyricism, and a touch of ignorance.
I first met KFG outside of a venue when I was a touring DJ. We stopped in the show for their set and it was pretty evident they were the best performers on the bill after just the first song I heard. KFG has since paved a lane with their live performances and a slight genre smash of all things good hip-hop.
You can catch Kung Foo Grip, and the rest of Seattle’s Most Stoned Emcees live at the Nectar Lounge on September 27th.
