Upcoming rapper, Ktlyn is a 25-year-old rapper from San Diego, California. She started her career by using social media to promote her music. Now, she is known doing duets of popular songs on TikTok and adding her own verses to them. As a result of these videos, she has gained over a million followers on the social media platform.
After posting a duet of Russ‘ song, “Handsomer,” on TikTok, he featured her on the remix of the song which hit number one on iTunes and #59 on Billboard’s Top 100 Chart. Some are now saying that she’s Russ’ protege as she recently went viral with her hit, “Big Mad.” It has gained a lot of traction on social media being featured in over 365 thousand TikTok videos. The song has also reached #2 on iTunes’ Hip-Hop/Rap chart.
Ktlyn Signs With DIEMON Records
After the success of the remix featuring Ktlyn, Russ had her join him on tour. While they were on stage in her hometown of San Diego, Russ announced that she was the second official artist signed to DIEMON, the record label he started with fellow independent rapper Bugus.
Her newest single, “Big Mad,” is hottest bad bitch anthem on TikTok right now. Produced by Kato on the Track, Styles & Complete, and Crash, the track has a nice little bop to it. Tonally, Ktlyn has a voice that lends itself well to hip-hop. She’s already showing signs of having many flows in her pocket, as well as a strong pen game. “Oh you big mad? Got a big bag, popping big tags, all white Rover, yeah, I whip that. Ate it up, left no crumbs, ’cause that shit smacked.”
This catchy song got us imagining what IF Ktlyn HAD listened to what a hater gotta’ say? She probably wouldn’t have pursued a career in music. As a result, she would have never made this song and we’d probably all be BIG mad that we didn’t get to play this song on repeat.
