The upper-left natives known as KnowMads are no strangers to recording music in new settings. After a stint in California, while recording a gang of singles and their Knew School album, the duo traveled south of the border to inspire their muses with authentic Mexican food and tequila. The Gringo EP is leading up to their next full-length album which is dropping next month.
The KnowMad behind the decks known as Jester produced this four-piece project. The entire EP has a tropical fiesta feel and comes fully equipped with Spanish interludes. Bridging the tracks with the language of their new surroundings is a nice touch.
The highlight of the project comes during the finale. “Gringo” is a tale of two white boys spitting game at a couple of Latina women that just won’t “fall in love with a gringo.”
